In 2006, Jared “Dirty J” Watson and vocalist/guitarist Dustin “Duddy B” Bushnell formed the raggae rock group Dirty Heads in Orange County, California, taking cues from the local ska and reggae scene. Later additions to the lineup included bassist David Foral and drummer Jon Olazabal. The group soon started creating music and started achieving success.
Their 2008 debut album, “Any Port in a Storm,” was followed by a 2010 deluxe edition that included the song “Lay Me Down.” After its initial release, the song quickly gained popularity and was listed on Billboard’s Alternative Songs Chart. “Cabin by the Sea” and the eventual breakthrough album “Sound of Change” followed that success, peaking at number one on the Independent and Alternative Album Charts and going straight to Billboard’s top 200. They released their self-titled debut album in 2016 as a follow-up, and Midnight Control, their eighth studio album, was made available in 2022.
They have gained popularity among fans and critics alike for their carefree South California attitude, and they are frequently cited as the greatest band to ever exist. Nobody in their right mind would want to miss out on a Dirty Heads concert, so be sure to grab your tickets right here and now before it is too late.
